History
Giving Hope Foundation initially started as an anonymous Facebook page in 2011. On it were positive statuses, affirmations, and Facebook messages sent telling people they were important.
From there, the campaign grew. Sticky notes were plastered in library books and around dormitories at a local university; a website was created to share information on positivity, mindfulness, suicide and suicide prevention. "Giving Hope" became "Giving Hope: A Campaign for Suicide Prevention," and finally, "Giving Hope: A Campaign for Positivity."
With growing and continued support, Giving Hope officially became "Giving Hope Foundation," a nonprofit organization with the mission of reducing suicide rates by employing the use of positive psychology, education, and awareness on suicide and mental health.
